We’re Working On It
The protests happening across the country have radicalized a lot of people and stirred them to action. We want to help keep that momentum going by using our platform to create visibility and recognition of the reality of racism and violence in our country – but we are not the experts on this topic, so we’re relying on voices that should be recognized and listened to right now.
As podcast creators, we want to lift up and celebrate those podcasts that have helped educate and inspire us on these topics.
So, here is a list of podcast episodes that I have found particularly helpful in my own ongoing journey to educate myself (y’all, I listen to a lot of NPR…). I hope you enjoy, and maybe learn something like I did.

I echo many of Sam’s suggestions above. I would also recommend anyone interested in more internationally focused gender, race, and disparity issues check out the following:
- Declarations: The Human Rights Podcast (I think Sam actually told me about that one…she is far more woke than I…)
- The Conversation from BBC World Service
- Displaced from VOX
Finally, I also have to recommend two of my favorites. They are not deep dives into race/racism (not usually directly at least), they are intelligent, escapist entertainment. To recharge when the world is too much:
- Star Talk (Dr. Tyson and colleagues do discuss social issues at times, in addition to space science)
- Levar Burton Reads (that man’s voice is the most peaceful thing I can imagine)
